gamescom asia × Thailand Game Show 2026, the highly anticipated regional gaming event, has officially kicked off, building on the success of the landmark collaboration between two leading international gaming events: gamescom asia and Thailand Game Show, Thailand’s №1 gaming exhibition. The event brings together three major partners: Koelnmesse, Show No Limit Co Ltd, and Online Station under True Corporation PCL. With continued support from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society through the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), the partners are working together to drive the gaming, digital content and pop culture industries in an integrated way, firmly positioning Thailand as the gaming market hub of Southeast Asia.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group Co Ltd and Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, Senior Vice Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group Co Ltd, delivered the opening address and shared his vision. Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, also attended to highlight the importance of collaboration and reaffirm the government’s vision under the theme ‘THE HEART OF GAMING’, which reflects the tremendous spirit of people across the gaming industry.
This year, the event has expanded to an unprecedented scale, spanning Exhibition Halls 1-4 on the Level G and welcoming exhibitors from 29 countries and territories across four continents. It features 20 national pavilions representing 12 key markets, from Asia and Europe to North America. The grand opening of the ‘Thai Playvilion’ will provide a platform for 66 selected Thai businesses and game developers to showcase their capabilities to international business partners and investors, alongside exhibition zones featuring top games from around the world. Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DE), said:
“This event is far more than just a gathering for gaming enthusiasts or a venue to try out new releases; it serves as a testament to the boundless horizons of the gaming industry and illustrates how Thailand can be an integral driver of this growth. The remarkable success of the past year speaks for itself, drawing approximately 206,000 participants from 95 countries, alongside more than 5,500 industry professionals and business leaders from 81 nations within our business zone. These figures clearly highlight Thailand’s strategic readiness to serve as a pivotal international meeting ground where creators, global enterprises, and players converge. Today, gaming is no longer mere entertainment-it is a dynamic industry that unifies cutting-edge technology, creative ingenuity, commerce, and people.
Behind every title lies the synergy of developers, designers, programmers, content creators, and countless other professions. This sector does not merely generate economic value; it establishes future-proof careers,
elevates digital skills, and projects Thailand’s cultural narratives and creativity onto the global stage. Currently, Thailand’s digital content market commands an overall value exceeding 50 billion baht, with the gaming sector accounting for 37 billion baht-or over 60% of the entire industry-with significant runway for further expansion. The vital imperative before us is determining how we empower Thai talents to thrive and reap the full rewards of this momentum, which is precisely why decisive government support is indispensable.
The proven capacity of this event to attract top global exhibitors and investors stands as solid proof of Thailand’s potential. We stand ready to provide comprehensive support across the board-from human capital development through upskilling and reskilling initiatives to establishing dedicated platforms such as the Thailand Plavilion and business matching sessions, empowering Thai studios and entrepreneurs to scale their innovations internationally. To this end, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society places utmost priority on building a robust ecosystem. Through the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), we are advancing the Game Industry Promotion Act to institute systemic mechanisms that support the industry across its entire value chain-encompassing technological research and development, capital access, specialized game promotion funds, and international market entry.
Concurrently, sustainable growth must proceed hand in hand with responsibility. We place great importance on responsible publishing standards, game rating systems, and consumer protection to foster trust among enterprises, players, and families alike. Our overarching objective is unified: to ensure Thai talent evolves beyond being proficient players into world-class creators, developers, and rightful intellectual property (IP) owners competing on the international stage.
I firmly believe that ‘Gaming is the Future,’ and my vision is to see Thailand emerge as a premier regional ‘Game Destination’-an international nexus for production, investment, competitive esports, and world-class innovation where leading publishers, developers, and investors choose to build the future together. Nevertheless, realizing this ambition cannot be achieved by the government alone. It demands close, coordinated collaboration among event org
